Stress

What is Stress?

This is a primitive physiological response, often described as the “fight or flight” response. When faced with a difficult situation or threat the body produces extra adrenaline and noradrenaline to prepare you for dealing with this situation. Stress is good for the body if it is not in excess.

Signs & Symptoms of Stress

Pounding heart; Shortness of breath; Dry mouth; Clinching of teeth; Fatigue; Panic attacks; Tensing of muscles; Tension headaches; Clammy hands; Quick breathing; Anxiety; Depression; Concentration difficulties; Sleeplessness; Increase in alcohol / drug intake.

How can Stress be treated?

Natural remedies can treat stress. These include a balanced diet, regular exercise and stress reduction techniques.
Stress may also be treated by using alternative therapies including relaxation techniques, aromatherapy, reflexology and acupuncture.
